Avengers: Doomsday Cast: Confirmed Actors vs. Rumors
Last updated 2026-11-02
Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters on December 18, 2026, in the US and Japan. When you choose what to watch first, the most important question is who is in it. This page keeps the cast officially announced by Marvel Studios clearly separate from names that are only reported or rumored.
How the cast was announced
- July 2024 (San Diego Comic-Con): Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doctor Doom.
- March 26, 2025: In a livestream lasting about five and a half hours, Marvel Studios revealed chairs labeled with actors' names one by one. 27 names in total, including Downey Jr.
- December 2025: A teaser revealed Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers.
- July 2026 (San Diego Comic-Con): Hayley Atwell was announced as Peggy Carter.
Some articles say the cast was announced on March 26, 2026, but the livestream took place on March 26, 2025.

- Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man): Photos said to be from the set have circulated, but nothing is confirmed.
This guide does not put titles tied to rumored actors in the must-watch list (Logan is rated 4, and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy is listed for reference). If their casting is officially announced, the ratings will be reviewed.
A cast list does not tell you their role
Knowing who is cast does not tell you how big their role is or which point in time a character comes from. For example, it has not been officially revealed whether the classic X-Men come from after Days of Future Past. The importance ratings in this guide are estimates that include some guesswork, based on official information before release.
