Peggy, old

Steve visits an elderly Peggy. Her memory slips mid-conversation, and she's surprised all over again to see him alive.

Part 2: Fury is attacked

An ambush in the streets

Fury can't unlock the data Natasha retrieved and grows suspicious. On his way home, he's ambushed by fake police officers and a masked assassin with a metal arm.

Steve's apartment

Fury escapes and turns up in Steve's apartment. He hands Steve a flash drive and warns him to trust no one, then is shot through the wall. He dies on the operating table.

The elevator fight

Senior official Alexander Pierce asks Steve about the drive. Steve won't tell him. In the elevator, the agents he's worked with attack him. He fights them all off and is declared a fugitive.

Part 3: The enemy within

Beneath the old camp

Steve and Natasha follow the drive to the camp where Steve trained in the war. Hidden underground, a computer holds the mind of Hydra scientist Arnim Zola.

Hydra's secret

Zola explains that after the war, Hydra grew in secret inside S.H.I.E.L.D. for decades. Project Insight will wipe out millions of people who might stand against Hydra. Then a missile hits the bunker.

Sam's house

The two escape and take shelter at Sam's house. Sam, who flew with a winged rig in the military, offers to help.

The Falcon

The three grab a Hydra officer and make him talk. Sam gets his wings and fights as the Falcon.

Part 4: The Winter Soldier

The highway fight

The masked assassin, the Winter Soldier, and his team attack their car. The battle spills from the highway into the streets.

Behind the mask

In the fight with Steve, the assassin's mask comes off. It's Bucky, the best friend Steve thought was dead. When Steve calls his name, he answers, "Who the hell is Bucky?"

Wiped again

Steve's group is captured, then freed by Maria Hill. Meanwhile, in a Hydra lab, Bucky begins to remember Steve, and his memory is wiped again.

Fury lives

Hill takes them to a hideout where Fury is waiting, alive. He faked his death. Pierce is Hydra, and they plan to stop the Helicarriers.

Part 5: The battle of the Helicarriers

The old uniform

Steve takes back his wartime uniform from a museum exhibit. At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, he tells everyone about Hydra and asks them to stand with him.

Pierce's end

Natasha, disguised as a council member, gets close to Pierce and dumps all of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s and Hydra's secrets onto the internet. Fury shoots Pierce.

Friends in the sky

Steve and Sam swap out the targeting chips on the Helicarriers. On the last one, Steve fights Bucky, gets shot, but finishes the job, and the three carriers destroy one another.

To the end of the line

In the collapsing ship, Steve drops his shield and refuses to fight. "I'm with you till the end of the line." Bucky keeps hitting him, but when Steve falls into the river, Bucky pulls him out and leaves him on the shore.
