Easy-to-miss details

Stan Lee's cameo

Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee drinks a bottle contaminated with Bruce's blood, which is how the army tracks Bruce down.

A nod to the old TV Hulk

The actor who played Hulk in the old TV series appears as a university security guard.

What happens to Dr. Sterns

At the end, Bruce's blood gets into a wound on Dr. Sterns's head and something starts to change. That thread is picked up much later.

A Captain America connection

The formula General Ross gives Blonsky traces back to the World War II super-soldier research.
