On a distant world, Knull, creator of the symbiotes, lies imprisoned. He sends the monstrous Xenophages to find the Codex, the key to his freedom.
Back from the MCU, Eddie and Venom are in a Mexican bar, wanted by the police after the events of the last film.
They decide to go to New York to clear their names.
On the way, a Xenophage attacks. They learn the monster can track them whenever Venom shows himself.
Soldiers led by Rex Strickland are also hunting the symbiote.
Eddie hitches a ride with Martin Moon's family, who dream of meeting aliens and are traveling near Area 51.
Venom detours to Las Vegas, runs into Mrs. Chen and dances with her.
At Area 51, scientist Teddy Paine studies captured symbiotes.
Eddie is captured and taken to Area 51.
Xenophages swarm the base. Captive symbiotes are released and bond with soldiers and scientists to fight back.
The Codex can only be destroyed if Eddie or Venom dies. Venom protects Eddie and sacrifices himself, taking the monsters with him.
Alone now, Eddie visits the Statue of Liberty, which Venom always wanted to see.
